RULES OF DYKE GOLF CLUB SENIORS SECTION
Adopted at the Inaugural meeting of the Association on June 15th 1964 and as amended at subsequent Annual General Meetings. Last amendment Monday 30th March 2026.
- The Association shall be known as the “Dyke Golf Club Seniors Section”.
- The Annual General Meeting of the Association shall be held not later than the last Wednesday in March. Twenty five per cent of the membership shall form a quorum.
- The regular work of the Association shall be conducted by a Committee consisting of:
- Immediate Past Captain
- Captain
- Vice-Captain
- Prospective Vice-Captain
- General Secretary
- Match Secretary
- Match Coordinator
- Competitions Secretary
- Treasurer
- One Ordinary Member
- A Vice-Captain will be elected each year and will progress through Captain to Immediate Past Captain. The Vice Captain elect will be co-opted onto the committee (if not selected in time for the AGM).
- The Ordinary Member, Secretaries, Match Coordinator and Treasurer will be elected to serve for up to 3 years.
- Elections for these posts will be held as necessary to replace these members as they complete their 3 years or leave the Committee for any other reason.
- Match Managers (who do not sit on the committee) will be appointed by the Match Coordinator.
- Four shall form a quorum.
- Membership of the Association shall be at the invitation of the Secretary acting on behalf of the Committee. Candidates must be:
- Members of the Dyke Golf Club.
- 55 years of age or over.
- Membership subscription shall be determined by the Committee.
- The membership year shall run from 1st Jan to 31st December. Subscriptions becoming due on or before 1st January or at the point of joining. Members joining after 1st October will have their fees waived for the following year.
- If a member of the Seniors Section should become a Social Member of the Club then they can only be a Social Member of the Seniors Section. Social membership entitles the member to attend social functions but not to enter any competitions or matches. There will be no fee for Social Members.
- FLEX MEMBERS of the club will be entitled to participate in competitions but not win trophies. They cannot play in matches.
- Competitions may be arranged throughout the year whenever thought desirable by the Captain.
- Proposals for alterations to ANY of these Rules must be submitted to the General Secretary in writing, one month prior to the Annual General Meeting and countersigned by at least Two members, for consideration by the Committee.
