Vets Questionnaire

The closing date for return of our questionnaire has passed and so as promised we are providing you with an analysis of your responses.

Thirty two Vets responded to the questionnaire. This amounts to approx 30% of all Vets but more importantly over half of those who have participated in matches this year.  So a good representative sample.

Generally the opinions have been very consistent and providing full support to the proposed changes to the way matches are organised and run.

  • 97% are of the opinion that introducing Match Managers will make the role of Captain more appealing.

  • 75% (24) say they would put their name forward for the role of Match Manager (for between 1 and 5 matches). Note 3 of these were anonymous!

  • 7 have said they would now consider being a Captain in the future.

  • 94% are of the opinion that relaxing the dress code would not  increase the number of times they volunteer (but a number expressed a preference for casual dress).

  • 94% say that reducing the number of matches would not increase the number of times they volunteer.

  • 75% say that changing the format would not increase the number of times they volunteer (see however note regarding suggestions below).

  • 10 have said they would volunteer for a role on the committee.

We have received a good number of suggestions to help make our matches appealing to a wider audience of which speeding up play and the day were the most prominent.

We will be discussing your suggestions at our next committee meeting and look to introducing any changes next year.

We will shortly call a meeting of volunteers for the role of match manager to explain the role in more detail and to allocate matches for next year. Watch this space…….
