COMPETITIONS – QUALIFYING AND FUN
A series of qualifying competitions are held throughout the year. The majority are Stableford format, off the yellow tees. Details are announced in advance on the club noticeboard and entry is via the club’s online booking system. Entry fee £4. Again all welcome and vital for keeping your handicap current.
Fun competitions (Captains Day, AGM competition etc) and knockouts are announced via the club noticeboard where the entry sheet will be posted.
MATCHES
We have 36 matches organised for the 2024 season. These provide the opportunity for some friendly matchplay competition both at home and away on some great local courses. They include a lunch where the etiquette is that the home team buy the drinks. So if you are playing away all you pay for is the lunch.
If you are interested in playing please register your interest under the teams section of the club V1 booking system. Unlike some other clubs we do not insist on you being available for the other match with the opposition but preference in selection will be given to those available for both fixtures. If you do wish to play in away fixtures it is expected that you will put your name down for some home fixtures. Team selection will be on the basis of ensuring that everybody who enters gets their fair share of games. Team shirts and jumpers are available and we hold a large selection in stock (so please speak to one of the committee) – we do like all players to wear team colours.
